Try New Batteries

Here are some quick tips to troubleshoot and get your toy working again. Let's solve these common problems and get back on track!

Have you put in enough of the right kind of batteries?

Various toys require specific types and quantities of batteries. Verify the instructions provided with your toy, which can be found on the packaging or in an enclosed leaflet. Additionally, the "specifications" section on our website's product page will outline the battery requirements for each item.

Have you put the batteries in the right way?

If your toy isn't functioning, it may be due to incorrectly inserted batteries. Review the instructions carefully to ensure the batteries are inserted correctly with the correct orientation.

Check the battery compartment

Certain vibrators, particularly bullets, may come with pre-installed batteries. These usually feature a small paper disc in the battery compartment that must be removed before activating the vibrator.

Are the batteries sealed in plastic?

Batteries that come with certain toys are enclosed in a clear plastic seal. These batteries won't function until you remove this seal, so make sure to carefully peel it off before use.

Is your toy rechargeable?

Ensure that you have charged your toy for the recommended duration. Refer to the instructions provided with the toy; typically, a rechargeable toy will have a flashing light during charging and a solid light when fully charged.

Don't use rechargeable batteries

We recommend using standard batteries instead of rechargeable ones. Rechargeable batteries can be slightly larger and may lead to difficulties in securing the battery compartment. Therefore, we do not advise using rechargeable batteries with any of our toys.

Is the battery cap screwed on tightly?

For many toys with twist-base controls, it's important to ensure that the base covering the batteries is tightly secured. Sometimes giving it an extra twist can help the toy work properly. In older toys, the springs can become compressed over time, which may affect their ability to maintain contact with the batteries. If this happens, gently pulling on the spring can sometimes resolve the issue.

Strange smell from your toy?

Many rubber, PVC, or vinyl dildos have a strong smell due to their materials and manufacturing process. While there's no quick fix for this, regular washing with warm water and Lovehoney Fresh Toy Cleaner can help gradually reduce the odour over time.
